Pam
My name is Pam. Hi. Nice meeting you.
I'm 17 years old, and I wish I could stay this old forever.
I live in an island called Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), right next to Puerto Rico and a little bellow Cuba.
I'm a senior in High School, and soon I will be a freshman again, but in college. I'm too young for that still.

I'm starting over for the 5th time, maybe?
And updating for the first time in forever...

Here is how its gonna work: I will call this a little agenda/project to see my improvements over time with photography, along with other little unimportant updates. Sounds good?

So, I have discovered that having a good camera doesn't mean I can take good pictures right away, and that's why I have been taking a photography course.
A good picture consists on the combination of shutter speed, aperture of the lens, and ISO or sensitivity. I used to think that it was just click and shoot, but no.

"Good photographers" nowadays have Photoshop, and in my opinion, that takes away the magic of the whole picture-taking. Anyone can take a crappy picture now and transform it into something completely amazing! Where's the fun in that, huh? Where's the challenge of taking hundreds and hundreds of pictures and go through them to choose maybe one, or two.

There are tons of ways of creating the effects a stupid computer can make in minutes. Sure, it takes a little more effort, time and patience, but the final picture says it all!

So, for the first lesson, the teacher asked for three things: shutter speed, aperture, and ISO.
This is one of my pictures for the assignment, and probably, my favorite:
I made this with a black construction paper in the background, and a common light bulb directly pointing at the water. There was no editing on a computer, and for something so simple, I find it beautiful.

Playing with water drops was fun, and freezing them in the middle of the air was even more entertaining:
The background is actually yellow, but with a warm lamp and a white one, I made the effect of orange and green. Honestly, I have no idea of how that came out to be.

I have a blackberry now, so I'm basically addicted to twitter all over again, and I use it as if it were a chat messenger thing. (twitter: pam_franco)

And last, and least... School. Two months until graduation. Period.
